Maison Manning is a south-east based visual artist whose work is based around appropriation and its different uses within the photographic world. Maison has taken a particular interest in late 20th century found photography, focusing closely on snapshot images that depict the universality of family life. Maison spent a significant amount of time with her grandparents, where her fascination around family life and other people’s stories stemmed from. Within all of her work there is an underlying notion of family connection, although due to Maison’s use of found photograph, we know there is little chance of family connection within each sequence of images.
